To assist:
-
Fit notes are included in product descriptions (e.g., true to size, generous, or small fit).
-
Model info: We share our model Philippa’s measurements and the size she’s wearing for reference.
-
Garment measurements: Many items include exact measurements, often provided by the designer’s pattern maker. These are listed in the product description:
-
If listed as "garment" measurements, compare to a similar item you already own (see how below).
-
If listed as "body" measurements, measure your body and choose the closest size (see how below).
- We strongly recommend using these measurements if available, this is the most accurate, objective way we can guide you to the right size. It can take a little time to go through the process for each style but if you're invested in avoiding a return and gaining a new wardrobe hero, this is the way to go.

How to Measure
To measure a garment you already own (lay it flat on a table):
-
Bust: Measure across the garment from armpit to armpit.
-
Waist: Measure across the narrowest part
-
Hip: Measure across the widest part, about 20cm below the waistband
-
Length: Measure from shoulder to hem (or waistband to hem for pants), unless the measurement states inside leg/inseam - in this case measure from the bottom of the crotch seam to the hem.
-
Sleeve: Measure from shoulder seam to cuff.
To measure your body (using a soft tape measure):
-
Bust: Measure around the fullest part of your chest.
-
Waist: Measure around your natural waistline (just above your belly button).
-
Hip: Measure around the widest part of your hips.
-
Inseam: Measure from the top of your inner thigh to the ankle bone.
Note: All measurements have a 5% tolerance for error as per fashion industry standards. We do not measure every individual item before shipping.
Sizing Tips:
-
Check fit notes under the “Add to Cart” button.
-
Compare how the model wears it to pieces you already own.
-
Trust your gut—if it looks oversized, it probably is.

"True to Size" means true for that brand. Australian sizing varies by brand and even between styles (e.g., M.A. Dainty styles can differ widely).
